EVERMORE (SCRIPT) 2026

It started as a unique, one of a kind Novella, one that I had written for my 2 terrific 12-year-old daughters, Chantal and Jade, who wanted a Young Adult book soaked in the usual “Love Gained, Love Lost Tragedy” of romance and drama – on the level of their age, obviously. My admiration (as a viewer) of many British period dramas is quite extensive, as my upbringing included book to script to screen films, from such authors as H.P Lovecraft, Denis Wheatley and Stephen King in horror and fantasy, as well as Jeff Wayne – yeah, OK, a musician, but that War of the World’s spectacular is awesome, you can’t deny it!

At the time, writing under the pseudonym Casanova D Vinci, a name that went on to write “The Sexual Healing Guide: For Beginner’s” and “Looking Glass” for a larger Young Adult audience, it soon became a name attached to many other novels and novella books. The Script itself carries the original creator’s name, as does the upcoming novel “Tears Of The Rain”, a well awaited continuing story in The Bordello Tales Collection” (Book 5 of 12), which were first started under Casanova Da Vinci.

A few months after, with permission of my daughter’s “EVERMORE” was published on the Amazon circuit, drawing attention from Barnes & Noble customers, a Bookshop I’d never heard of, settling in the second book BREATHE, which opened the door for a third, MIDNIGHT SUN (not based on the smash hit Romantic Tragedy teen film), that became very relatable to many happy people for 36 weeks.

EVERMORE, however, was never written with key elements that children should never see in any book or novel. Leveling the imagination can sometimes be hard, especially if you’ve grown up half your life on a council housing estate. There are limits, and in “EVERMORE” I saw (and still see) that innocence, as well as romance and tragedy only lacking insensitivity and unneeded violence. With this Novella, my only goal was to make my daughter’s proud. I did this. Unfortunately, it was the fallout of the Novella from reader’s pov’s, however, where I realized how much people’s disapproval of the ending got them picking up their pitchforks (after drying their eyes with a tissue) and screaming for my head (gulp), and that was just from the Tester’s I sent free samples of the book out to.

EVERMORE is the story of Cassie Brindley-White, a young, misunderstood woman and her family, who happen to be the Overseer’s (Lords and Ladies) of the town, Evermore, one of the 12 Houses of Lunis (refer to Suburban Heat: House Of Swan). Cassie, a young student studying at Redstone University in Redstone (Fire) City (see City Limits: The Long Road Out), returns home for the summer break, to stay with her aunt and uncle while battling traversed amnesia, a rare condition in Resheen, where the trauma is so severe from a head injury, that it reacts just like a nuclear explosion; the brain explodes, sending memories scattering in the airless void of thought as fragments. And then, blown out, sucked back and left just as lethal.

Tristan Lazenby, a man of both strong character and charm, running alongside the same parallel lines of another story-line (BREATHE). Even so, only one thing keeps him close to the town, close to Evermore House, and that one thing is his destiny.

Written as a 1 Hour short film, as from the Novella, which I chose to keep the essence of the story as accurate as I could. As “Essence” IS the movie, if an accomplished feel, relatable and emotional bonding ingredients are put together right, you – the Scriptwriter – can create the very best home grown movie. If both great and legendary films are to be produced, the over-use and sometimes criminal amount of both CGI and Advertising must be kept at a minimum, though, like the Devil on my shoulder, they fit hand-in-glove together and must therefore have balance.

Though many (reader’s and viewer’s) who experience “EVERMORE” will hate me for submitting it to Cannes next summer, I have to say, when I heard how many people cried while reading it (yes, even men cry), including my daughter’s. It was not the hate for me (The Author), but for the relatable emotions of the tragedies themselves. Choosing the right chemistry between the Character’s, fluid continuity of the story, the desired locations for both good and bad bad things, while keeping those great “Highlander” inspired undertones totally separate from the realistic drama. Hints of other titles are present in the background, wetting the appetite of those who recognize them. As the project is based entirely in and around Evermore Town, a place that is not of our planet, but of an ancient island somewhere else… the story revolves around the aftermath of a 300 year war against it’s neighboring town of Borello, a town without the heirs and graces of Evermore, which stands as one of the ruling 12 Houses of Lunis – He who holds the power, holds life thereafter. As does Borello House, under the self-titled title of Overseer to her town and people, Miranda Gruber.

Thomas, Carrie’s brother, leaves Evermore under false pretense, it is for Carrie, his returning to university to study more escapes the fact there is something more going on (refer to Suburban Heat: House of Swan) further afield. The introduction of Lady Melissa Ellington-Evermore, a woman not without a temper, as well as reputation, is at a miss of why Tristan, a man known to the Melissa, and yet, a stranger to Carrie has accompanied her niece home to Evermore House. Is there a reason – yes, one that will take the reader and viewer on a romantical heartbreaking roller-coaster ride of intrigue, revelations, secrets and betrayal. Life is – Forevermore in Evermore.

A SCENE SAMPLE will be posted soon, but as yet, it is unknown which to select.
