The Muse is finally available in Paperback, and the new novel by prolific author Marcus De Storm is now available on the Amazon Bookstore priced at £9.99.
The novel, pulling away the curtains (so to speak) on the Writer, tells the story of The Writer, who after completing the “The Bordello Tales Collection” escapes to the beautiful scenic island of Sicily in a bid to break through his Writer’s Block and work on the first opening key novel to his much-anticipated series of “The Crimson River Collection“.
Athena, a woman he believes is a guest in the same hotel, talks him into spending an evening in the city to see the sights and help him relax enough to start writing again. What comes to be an evening of light entertainment and social drinking, however, becomes a surreal nightmare as he is confronted by those of his imagination; several characters from his prevo books who aren’t happy about the way in which they were left in the series, while others, one in particular, wishes nothing less than to seek revenge.
Explaining the situation, Athena tells The Writer of a great catastrophe that is coming to everyone, not just in the imaginative world of The Island, but the entire universe, if he and the characters from his books don’t act. Again, it is The Writer, who attempts to dispel the people before him as simple actors – those lookalikes – who appear to look like the envisioned characters.
By ship, they travel the seas, including The Sea of Storms, a dangerous wayfaring anomaly that appears as a Maelstrom that has claimed many ships and the lives upon them, until finally, they reach land. Is this the infamous island of Resheen? And if so, will the weary travellers reach their goal and stop the universe and everything in it from being destroyed?
